HDPE branch high level cAt its meeting on 12 January, the full seven manufacturer and two trade members of SRDA agreed to set a new standard for butt welding of HDPE pipework to complement the requirements of BS8490, which would be certified by an independent accreditation body. Details will be relased during the second quarter of 2016. SRDA Secretary Jim Hooker comments "High quality welding of HDPE pipework is crucial to trouble-free service and long life in siphonic systems. SRDA aims to ensure there is no place for sub-standard workmanship in this industry".
